Christians in eastern Nepal honored Dr. K.B. Rokaya organizing an inter-religious programme, 10 January 08, Dhran
Friday 18th of January 2008 [ ????????, ??? ४, २०६४ ]

Daharan Christian society and Sunsary Christian society jointly organized an inter-religious programme on the role of religious communities in constitution assembly and  building  new Nepal  on 10 January 08 in Dharan. The programme was participated by about  200 people  including local government officials, political party representatives, religious leaders from Hindu, Buddhist, Islam, Christian and other religious commu

Addressing the programme as chief guest honorable member of national human rights commission and NCCN general secretary Dr. Rokaya  said that religious communities can play very important role in the process of building new Nepal. He added that as the nation is heading towards the election of constitution assembly to make new constitution we should be aware of the every happenings and raise voice in favor of meaningful and inclusive CA polls.

 

Other speakers also spoke in the favor of the meaningful CA polls and active participation of religious communities.

On the same programme, the organizers honored Dr. K. B. Rokaya  for his role in the protection and promotion of human rights, promoting and providing leadership to Christianity in Nepal and being appointed in the prominent position of National human rights commission as its honorable member.

 

The programme was chaired by Mr. Bhishan Thapa, the president of Dhran Christian Society.
